Eddie Parsons grew up singing and playing piano in the small town of Glasgow, Kentucky. His Love and passion for music started when he sang for his first congregation at the age of four, and directed his first school choir at age six.
“I remember waving my hands left to right with great emotion knowing that someday music was going to be a great part of my life.”
Eddie continued his music through school, performing for special events and festivals. He was the class President of his senior choir.
Under the direction of Dr. David Livingston, he studied piano at Western Kentucky University and sang on occasion with the world famous Billy Vaughn Orchestra. Eddie also had his own trio that performed nightly in Bowling Green Kentucky for 4 years.
All of these experiences triggered his desire to be in music ministry.
In 1989, Eddie landed the position as piano player for Opryland‘s Gospel Quartet The Cumberland Boys. For 8 years he played piano for the quartet at Opryland, USA traveling across America and Canada. His most memorable moment was playing onstage at the historic Grand Ole Opry.
“I‘ve played in just about every church denomination and they all have one great thing in common: Everyone Loves Jesus!”
God loves a servant‘s heart, and Eddie wants to be a servant with his music. Currently, he is ministering his tremendous talents in Nashville at Hermitage United Methodist Church as Praise and Worship Leader. He plays for five praise teams and leads the congregation at the new fellowship building for the second service.
Eddie is excited about his new project: Hymns, Harmonies & Hallelujahs.
“I‘ve taken some of my favorite Hymns and put my own arrangements to them. I feel it‘s the words that make a song sacred, the tune can be any style.”
From concerts, conferences and festivals to auditoriums and churches, Eddie travels across the country spreading the Gospel through his music, bringing hope and joy to all who listen. |
